Get to know our school staff. We're all here to help.

Our professional, university-educated teachers encourage students to develop a love of learning and a desire to succeed. They maintain the highest integrity and concern for your child’s wellbeing.

The principal is responsible for the educational leadership and management of our school. If you would like to speak to the principal, please contact us to make an appointment.

Our school administrative staff can answer inquiries or direct you to the appropriate staff member for help.

Why did you become a teacher: I have always loved learning new things. So I wanted to share this zest for learning with others and teaching was the best way to do that.

Favourite thing about Blue Haven Public School: I love Blue Haven Public School because of the fantastic staff, students and community – coming to work everyday doesn’t feel like work. I enjoy getting to know a different group of students every year. We spend so much time together laughing and enjoying learning.

Why did you become a teacher: I became a teacher because I wanted to help children believe in themselves, set goals and reach those goals. I believe with hard work and someone in their corner at school who they can trust and feel safe with, they will achieve!

Favourite thing about Blue Haven Public School: I love all the exciting innovating programs that focus on student welfare and engagement and the focus on back to the basics in literacy and numeracy. Why did you want to work in a school: I had always wanted to become a teacher but went onto pursue secretarial work like many girls in the mid 1970’s. I finally pursued my dream and went to Uni at 39 to become a teacher and started retraining to become a school counsellor at 51. I love my job, love helping and supporting children and their families.

Favourite thing about Blue Haven Public School: feeling valued while making positive contributions to the lives of others. Why did you become a teacher: I never wanted to become a teacher. Both of my parents, my brothers, and my uncles and cousins were teachers. Christmas gatherings were boring! I only ever want to be rich, and as such, I began a Commerce degree. Shortly a fter, I withdrew from my world financial domination and business ambitions. In my second practice teaching experience I realised that I had found my passion – teaching. I’ve never considered doing anything else since.
